Good food, good service but cash only is weird these days. And they sell cigarettes, which also is weird.

Lived in White Plains for most of my life and now 61 years old and remember my father bring me to star diner when I was five always been a great place to go

Loved this place. It is small with an open kitchen behind the counter. It is the quintessential diner including a waitress with a sense of humour and sass. They have a good group of regulars that provided entertaining banter with the staff. The food was delicious and service was fast and you must use cash. If ever back in White Plains I will be there.

You feel American when you walk in. Such classic Americana, small diner with typical diner options and high quality food and of course, exceptional service.

An authentic hole in the wall diner. Looks old because it is! But an excellent place to get breakfast at 4 AM, good food served quickly. Cash only! (ATM in the foyer)

Best diner in NY! I have been coming here for years. I moved about an hour upstate, and I still come by to get something to eat every so often. It's that good. Great staff too. A great place to grab a quick bite to eat. Simple and delicious.

Really mediocre food. Me and my fiance came here for dinner and much to our reluctance after seeing the entrance decided to try it anyway because we saw there were customers. We ordered the Yankee pot roast with mash and corn $10 and meatloaf with mash and peas and carrots $10. The pot roast was dry, under seasoned and unmemorable. It wasn't even a real pot roast, it was 6 slices of beef in a tomato type of gravy. The mash was okay and the corn was straight out of the can. The meatloaf meal was basically what you could get from a frozen tv dinner from Stouffer's. Staff is nice but there was also some kind of language barrier or confusion, I asked for the Italian bread and got wheat toast instead...At $24 (including tip) I expected better. We should have stuck to the diner staples like breakfast and all things fried.

Super fast. Ordered Hamburger deluxe with onion rings. Burger was pretty slim but for $6.75 can’t complain. Everything was pretty good / more than adequate. Has old school diner feel. bathroom might need a little help.

No healthy options on the menu. Everything is battered and fried. While I was there someone came in and ordered a fried hamburger. The service was horrible. I saw the waitress twice; when she took my order and when she handed me the check. Very small cramped location. Forget about getting in there in a wheelchair or walker. I'm usually pretty good about giving places two visits before I write them off but I won't be going back to this one.

Went here with My friend after a night of dancing..stopped here for cafe and food around 4am ish. Everything was pipping hot and great! Our server was so mega nice! Recommend this spot!

This place is always been a favorite of mine and hopefully things will get back to normal soon. If you're in White Plains and want a great diner with good food, this is the place. It's small and cozy. It's hot in the Summer and cold in the Winter. It brings you back to years ago. The staff is fantastic. It's good for breakfast lunch and dinner and I've been there on all of those occasion's plus late at night. It's close to the hospital and to Mamaroneck Avenue. It's also a good neighborhood place. It's not 5 star and the parking is aweful, but it's a nice place to go to. There is a pride here that's unmatched in most restaurants. They make you feel welcome and they serve you a good meal.

Good food, reasonable price, open 24 hours. Cash only, with an ATM in the entryway. Walking distance from the hospital. Ordered takeout and the order was ready quickly, and everything was correct. The mozzarella sticks were notably good. It's a little place with limited seating, and it seems popular at all times of day and night.

I love their BEC bagel they have the best staff super kind today is 5/24/20 they are now open from 8am to 8 pm i am so happy they are backbest staff and best food

Solid breakfast. Corned beef hash was requested well done and it wasn't. It was busy but got a table quickly. Waitress kept the coffee flowing which is always a bonus

When will you reopen? The bacon egg and cheese sandwich is the best. Add a little salt and pepper for extra flavor. This is a great local small business.

This place has a good rep and I've eaten there before but today the food was really bad. Turkey special was bad all around. French fries that came with the burger were mushy and had a freezer burn taste. Malted we ordered had very little malt taste.

An old style box car diner. Had breakfast, cooked fresh and fast. Friendly staff. Eggs, homefries, sausage, toast and coffee for less than $10. Cant beat it.

The Star Diner is one of my favorite places to go. It is my and my lady's default place to go when we want to go out. The atmosphere is great and even when it is crowded it's still conducive to allowing you to talk to your date. The food is always excellent and Eddie is a great dude!

Tucked in behind the unassuming store front is the heart of an old timey railcar dinner. With the excellent tasting and visually appealing food reflecting off of the bright reflective surfaces. Two thumbs up for this place.
